Technology as a Complement to Education: The Importance of Basic Skills (Professor Exposition 3)

A teacher's basic skills are essential for creating an effective and productive learning environment. These skills not only impact the quality of teaching but also influence the overall development of each student. Investing in teacher training and professional development is crucial for improving education and preparing students for a successful future. Teachers face several challenges in this process, for example, when a student doesn't understand a topic, no matter how much it's explained. They must find a way for the student to understand. A teacher cannot be rude; it wouldn't look good, that's why they must be creative. The most important thing for people in this profession is to have a lot of patience and master it.

These are some of the things that digitalization can affect. For example, it can make it difficult to focus attention, especially in activities like reading or writing, and also in critical thinking, because students become dependent on it. I found this quote:

“Artificial intelligence is on the rise…However, some key criteria still need to be met                                    before it can serve as a substitute for a real-life language teacher: spontaneity,                                                creativity and shared knowledge.”

While we have technology to do many things, we shouldn't use it in place of our educators. To strengthen relationships, we need teachers; in this case, we need them to help us learn the language, not just understand it. They guide us and provide us with cultural background that a computer or a phone can't. These technologies lack the human element.
