Technology in Education: Beyond Access (Professor exposition 2)
The incorporation of technology into education has been a highly relevant topic in recent decades. While access to devices and the internet is a fundamental first step, the true potential of technology in education is manifested in how it is used to enrich teaching and learning. Currently, many people who have access to various devices don't know how to use some of the applications included. For example, in my case, I had never used Excel before. I learned it through a course I took at the Municipality and while in college, and even then, I find it somewhat difficult to use.
It's no secret that phones are now a means of distraction for students, and I hear that they want to impose a rule prohibiting the use of these devices in class. As I mentioned in the commentary on the first teacher's presentation, I agree, so that there is a balance in their use. But now artificial intelligence has come to change things in this area, since if a person does not know how to do something, they only have to indicate what they want and it will provide the answer, and teachers cannot have control over this, now they have to adapt in teaching students how to use these tools in a moderate way, knowing how to use them, because as many know, these may not provide valid information and may have to be reviewed.
