How Teachers can guide Students in the new Digital Age (Professor Exposition 1)
While the internet has greatly benefited people, such as in this aspect of education, it is also a dangerous thing that teachers must be prepared to deal with. The internet actually makes people's lives easier. For example, when it comes to searching for information, they can find anything they want, like videos on how to speak a language or how to do something. However, in many cases, a person will need a guide, in this case a teacher, to accompany them in the process. On the other hand, it has been heard that the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) wants to regulate cell phone use in classes, which I think would be a very good thing because it would allow students to pay more attention; cell phones can be used in a balanced way, but these devices have now become an addiction among young people, since there are media where they can focus their attention, such as Facebook and Instagram, and others. While there may be advantages such as a variety of information, they also have their disadvantages, since this information must be ensured to be valid, because false data exists.
An example, which was mentioned in this presentation, is something that happens to most of us, including me, is that we turn on our cell phone and skip ahead to some detail, when it's not so necessary, and it's for the same reason mentioned above, it's something that people are already getting used to. It is very important for teachers to ensure that when teaching a class, since technology has become so heavily involved in education, that the different activities are adapted to the needs of the students. If for some reason the student cannot understand something with the technology, teachers should try to find another way and not leave them alone in their process, because the teacher's job is to teach so that students can achieve their goals.
